WELCOME TO THE POSTMAN’S NEIGHBOURHOOD

Meet The Postmen (from The New Paper)

ERNEST LUIS (above) became the first sports journalist in Singapore to have a dedicated blog linked to a newspaper during the 2006 World Cup, which he covered in Germany. He returned to start the Postman blog after that, giving a regular voice to passionate sports readers of The New Paper on a weekly basis. He once worked in Singapore Post and threw around postal packages marked “fragile” whenever Tottenham Hotspur lost.

LIM SAY HENG (above) is the other Postman, a Manchester United fan who works out in the SPH gym often trying to build a “Precious-like” physique and will administer this blog site full-time besides looking to revamp The New Paper’s website in the coming months.

ARUN RAJ (above) is the Postman’s “Blog Doc”, who takes care of this blog’s tech needs, is based Down Under for now, showing that it’s possible to upkeep the technological marvel that is the Postman’s blog – from somewhere in the Great Outback.

IAIN MACINTOSH (above) – Your English Kaki based in London – will be from time to time, The Postman in London, as he covers the English Premier League for The New Paper. He loves to pop up now and then and banter with Postman readers here, some of whom may actually have dreams of taking him on in a wrestling match (read: Chelsea fans).

The Postman’s helpers are:

JONATHAN ROBERTS is our Postman artist who designs the logos you see here and organises the byline and group photo shoots. He is also the Postman Podcast host, where he tries to keep Ernest from impersonating everyone with a universal Eastern European accent, and goads Gary into singing out loud, pearls of wisdom, or spouting wise Chinese sayings.

Emergency home-based “blog doctors” in TEOH YI CHIE – who creates the Ernest Luis and the Kopi-O Klan 3-D graphics you see in The New Paper during the football season, and LIEW HANQING – our news reporter and blog doctress, and Internet issues expert.
